Usually, we're busy making our list of New Year's resolutions at this time of year. While we often attempt to do the right thing by our bodies––drink more water, eat leafy greens, get regular exercise, take supplements––rarely are we thinking about our mind and its impact on our overall health and that of our skin.

When we are under stress, the brain and the nervous system can influence the skin's immune cells and trigger or exacerbate skin conditions. In fact, researchers have found that chronic stress can increase inflammation, accelerating the formation of wrinkles. Therefore, just as you need to protect your skin daily from environmental stressors like the sun and pollution, you also need to protect your mind from everyday stress and negative thoughts to achieve optimal skin health.  

Having spent decades working in the beauty and wellness industry, I'm here to tell you that there is no better way to protect yourself from stress than when you incorporate facial massage with your intentions.
